Pages are very yellowed but in good shape. Cover is acceptable but has crease marks. Excellent review of philosophical underpinnings of liberty as we have come to know it in this country, as our Founding Fathers saw it.
Liberty is a very precious and rare quality of a living condition. Berlin explains clearly that liberty has two faces: a positive and a negative one. Positive liberty is the answer to the question: who controls?

It is Berlins tribute and critique Mill would've approved of Mill, his philosophy and his life which unlike most philosophers, was lived in complete accordance with his views.

The only problems I had were the length of the second essay and Berlin's annoying habit of turning every sentence into a twenty-one lined, 12 comma, infinitive after split infinitive beast. This book details four of his lectures essays on the concept of liberty, which all shed light on what our world currently looks like. It is heavily theoretical and takes a while to understand, but once the breakthrough happens, the lessons learned stay with you forever.
